Description
Up for sale is a3rd Pattern FAIRBAIRN-SYKES Fighting Knife WWII British Commandos Leather Sheath. This is a World War II British made commando knife. This has the broad arrow inspection mark of the British military on the side of the handle above the number 15. It says "England" on the guard and also has England marked in the leather on the top of the sheath. The handle is metal and has a ribbed design. The sheath has slits to fit over a belt and has a brass tip to protect the knife point. The double-edged knife is very sharp.
The approximate measurements are shown in the photos. 11 1/2" total length and blade is 7" long x 7/8" at widest. The sheath is 13 1/2" long and 2" wide at top down to 1/2" at the point.
This is in very good condition. There are no scuffs or scratches on the blade, looks excellent. The handle looks good with a little wear in the finish and the end looks very good. The guard is good, straight, and clearly marked. The leather sheath is also in very nice condition. The stitching looks good with no loose or missing stitches. The brass pointed end is not shiny and shows some wear. The elastic band across the top of the sheath is ripped and frayed where ripped.
