This antique robe is amazing. It’s a blue silk ground lined with cream cotton or linen and pink fabric. It’s embroidered with a total of 9 couched 4 clawed dragons. Wonderful horse-hoof shaped cuffs.
In fair vintage condition. Please see the bottom of this description for general notes on how I rate my vintage clothing and textiles. Sadly, a lot of the golden couched embroidery is missing or loose. I’d say at least half of it, if not more has been lost over the years. The blue silk is in fairly good condition, so you will have a strong base to work with if you want to restore this historical garment. There is wear near the loop and knot closure under the arm and near the side vents as shown in the photos. Please use the zoom option to view photos. The lining is heavily worn and faded and is pulling away from the neck. The pink looks to me like it may have been a replacement lining installed several decades ago, but I’m not sure.
Sold as-is with the understanding that this robe needs a lot of restoration! NO RETURNS, please!
