    Description

ANTIQUE FRED HARVEY ERA NATIVE AMERICAN
    INDIAN NAVAJO CHIEF SILVER SPOON
Available for purchase is a RARE antique Native American Indian silver spoon.  This spoon is a "Fred Harvey Era" item, a genre of jewelry and silver souvenirs that were made for sale to the Anglo tourist along the Santa Fe railroad lines, in hotels and retail shops run primarily by the Fred Harvey Company.  This handmade spoon is especially desirable because it has a depiction of an Indian chief hammered into the handle and the bowl.  The handle even has the side profile of the face cut into the side.  The bowl is also stamped "Navajo".
The spoon measures about 5 5/8" long and the bowl is approximately 1 1/2" wide.  Although it's unmarked, the spoon is made of sterling silver or a composition very close to sterling (all of these early spoons were unmarked).  It weighs approximately 17.9 g (0.63 oz).  This spoon likely dates to the late 1800's or early 1900s.  I purchased this spoon at a recent estate sale.
Condition of this antique spoon is EXCELLENT.  It was handmade, so it's not like a piece of fine modern silver.  It does have some wear and light surface scratches.  Overall, this Native American spoon looks great and displays well.  It would make a fine addition to any collection.  Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself.  I'm confident you'll be very pleased with this purchase.
If you collect antique Native American Indian souvenirs, especially spoons, don't miss your opportunity to purchase this offering.  I've seen a few similar examples pictured online, but nothing exactly like this one.  My Buy It Now Price of 9 is a bargain and in line with the prices of similar spoons sold during the past several years.  So buy this spoon now before someone else beats you to the deal!

Payment is due immediately after purchase.  E-bay policy limits sellers to only accepting electronic methods of payment (i.e. PayPal).  If you have any questions regarding this policy, please let me know.  Virginia residents will need to add 5.3% state sales tax to the final purchase price.  E-bay has also started charging sales tax in many other states recently, something beyond my control.
For international purchases, I accept Paypal only.  The buyer is responsible for all customs fees.  The declared value listed on the customs form will be the final selling price of the item.  I will not list the item as a "gift" to avoid customs charges.
If you're the lucky buyer of this Navajo silver spoon, it will come to you VERY carefully packaged via Parcel Select or Priority Mail (your choice).  Shipping will be actual charges from zip code 22980 (packaged weight under 1 pound).  Use the eBay shipping calculator to determine exact mailing cost to your location.  International bidders will need to e-mail me for a shipping quote.
E-bay no longer allows sellers to offer buyers the option of purchasing shipping insurance.  I will insure this item at my own expense.
