Description

FALKLAND ISLAND WAR 1982, #45 COMMANDO, PRISTINE MINT RARE J. Nowill & Sons, Sheffield FAIRBAIRN SYKES FIGHTING KNIFE WITH ALSO RARE MINT ANKLE SCABBARD
!
This is most likely a wartime "one-of-a-kind" Presentation Commando Stiletto. The Falklands War didn't last very long for one, and the number of Commandos, SBS & SAS Units were small. The inscription is unique as well, as I believe "
berserk
" is in reference to "
Operation Berserker
",
the official name of the Falkland (or Maldives Argentina) Islands War.
The factory sharpened blade is 7" long and has a superb
J. Nowill & Sons
mirror polish finish to highlight the personal inscription. See pictures for closeups. This J. Nowill & Sons Cutlery Co. Fighting Knife is superbly made, with thick crossguard, thick razor sharp blade, & heavy handle, unlike many cheap, flimsy Post-War Cdo Knives. The handle is only near mint due to some light handling wear. The RARE Leather Leg Scabbard is mint, with no problems, and contemporary to the knife, but is inmarked. For the advanced Commando Knife Collector, this is a prize! Comes with "Bragging Rights" as well. :-). I doubt there are any out there quite like this historic wartime British #45 Cdo F-S KNIFE.
This unique F-S #45 Commando Knife, is from my personal collection that I'm forced to sell to pay for recent important acquisitions that I couldn't live w/o :-)
