Description
The Gibraltar 10 Pound banknote from 2006 is part of the 1995 - 2006 series. Its obverse side features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the Coat of Arms of Gibraltar with key, the Trinity House lighthouse on Europa Point, a Koehler Gun depressing carriage, a tree, and ER initials. The reverse side features a portrait of 18th-century British commanding officer, General Eliott. The "Sortie Made by the Garrison of Gibraltar painted by artist John Trumbull depicting Spanish and English troops fighting and General George Eliott with officers attending to the dying Don Josde Barboza during The Great Siege in 1779-1783 is also added on the back design. The note is 141 x 75 mm in size and contains a windowed security thread and a watermark image of Queen Elizabeth II to enhance its security features.
