Up for auction is a Gunstock War club. This piece is pictured in Who's Who #11 on page 103. It is a piece i've had in my collection for many years. it is 28" long overall. It is engraved. This piece has been pictured in multiple magazines and books over the years with the most recent, WW#11. The top of the club is 5-1/4" and the bottom is 1-1/2" wide. Most of the club is about 1" thick. The wood is made out of Chestnut. Overall the club is 10" wide at the blade. The blade is a hand forged 4-1/4" steel. The point is broken on it. It has been sit in the club with pewter, one side has a 9 sided leaf carved into the pewter and the other side is a 6 star. Cross hatching extends 8" on both sides up the handle. There are 3 or 4 intentional lines across the top. There are 2 small stickmen engraved on the side. There may have been more engraving on the club, but the club has been worn heavily on one side, more than likely it laid on this side for quite some time before being discovering. A wonderful old patina on it. A VERY nice piece. This week I will be listing several items from my personal collection as I am retiring and selling some things here and there.
