Mexican Folklorico (Jalisco) Dress - Handmade.
Dress is handmade with more than 200 yards of ribbon. The skirt has a wide bottom ruffle with 9 rows of ribbon and lace and has five rows of ribbon and lace on the upper part of the skirt. The bodice has seven rows of ribbon and lace on the bottom and neck ruffles. The sleeves have three rows of ribbon with lace edging. The color has teal ribbon with white lace.
This dress was made to do Folklorico dances, so the skirt is very wide and can be brought up to shoulder height without losing the fullness. It was worn for one performance before I had my first child and no longer fits.
Dress has a separate bodice and skirt. The fabric is 100% cotton. Skirt waist is 28” (waistband is 2.5” wide) and length (from waist to floor) is 43.” Bodice fits bust size 34” and waist 28.” Skirt has hook closure and bodice has buttons down the back.
