This is an
ORIGINAL BRITISH PATTERN 1888 MK I BAYONET
. (Inv. no. 0404) Knife bayonet for use on the .303 caliber M1888 Lee-Medford and Long Lee-Enfield rifles. It is marked on one side of the ricasso 12 '96 and on the other side BROAD ARROW V/D CROWN? 34 E and
"X" bending proof and 787 on one side of the pommel. It is 16 ¼ inches long total with a 11 5/8 inch blade.
The bayonet is in good condition with some signs of age and use. (See photos) This is outside my area of collecting and expertise and I have relied on references books and the internet. Please email any questions. Starting price is .95. Shipping weight is 2 pounds 4 ounces.
