    Description

Available is an original and authentic World War II British No. 7 MK.1/L Bayonet.
This bayonet was one of 176,000 made by five others makers from 1945 until 1948.   I am unsure which company made this piece.
The bayonet's innovative design with its unique swiveling pommel allowed it to be both bayonet and fighting knife.  It could be used on both the
Lee Enfield bolt action rifle and MkV Sten sub-machine gun.
The bayonet has deep finger grooves in the hilt which is made of resin impregnated cloth called Paxolin. The clip point blade has a deep single fuller on both sides, and is stamped on the ricasso with its designation "No. 7 M.K.1/L".  There are no markings on the other side. The length of the bayonet is approximately 12 ½ inches and the blade itself measures approximately 8 ¼ inches.  The swivel pommel retains its original black finish and bears the mark "ENGLAND" on one side.
The paxolin grips retain their original finish.
There is some minor paint loss to the swivel pommel and crosspiece.
    The
The blade is also in nice shape showing only light staining.
Overall, it is in good condition, with minor wear and oxidation commensurate with its age.
Please be sure to check out the large photos I have posted and judge condition for yourself.
