Description
In this auction you will be bidding on a World War-1 German Trench knife. No maker stamp. There are two versions of this knife, one is a bayonet the other is just a fighting knife. This is an example of the latter. The major differences are smaller wooden scales on the World War 1 knife versus larger longer plastic scales and a slot for the bayonet stud on the bayonet version. The wooden scales on this knife show no signs of cracking or rot. They are attached to the knife by 2 steel pins. the blade shows some signs of being sharpened post factory and the blade is sharp. Full length of the blade is nickel plated and has some scratching. There is no wiggle in this knife at all. The metal black scabbard still retains 90% of its original flat black paint. This scabbard requires a bayonet hanger to be used to hang on a belt. This is a rare seldom-seen World War-1 trench knife.
