    Description

    Good condition original WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet that has Oberndorf manufacturer markings on the left ricasso and dated 1917 on the spine. Bayonet was supplied to the Ottomans (Turks) during WWI, who subsequently shortened the blade to 9 5/8”. Blade has original bright finish with some graying. Edge has a couple of tiny nicks. Remaining metal has mostly brown and gray patina. Wood grips show some wear, lock button functions fine. Fitted in original Turkish steel scabbard that has original blue metal finish mostly worn away, and has several dings. A classic WWI bayonet for your collection.
